Colleen’s
auditing career has included legislative, state agency, and local
government auditing. Currently, she is the Deputy City Auditor of
Austin, Texas. She also worked as director of internal audit for the
Texas Youth Commission—the state’s juvenile corrections agency, and at
the Legislative Fiscal Office of the State of Oklahoma.
Since 1996, Colleen has served on the International Government
Relations Committee of the Institute of Internal Auditors, and has
chaired the committee since 2002. She also chairs the
Professional Issues Committee of the National Association of Local
Government Auditors. During 1999 to 2000, she served on the IIA
Steering Committee that developed the Certified Government Audit
Professional (CGAP) program. She has also co-authored a number of
research papers on the audit uses of evaluation and operations research
methodologies.
In addition to her contributions to the profession of auditing, she
works as a consultant, developing and delivering specialized course
content for government auditors and managers throughout the United
States and internationally.
